Indepth Training Induction Software helps Swick win MISC Award
Swick Mining Services, a technically innovative Australian drilling business, was recognized at The 2008 Mining Industry Skills Centre Training Awards last week. At the centre of Swick’s training processes is an Indepth Creative web based multimedia online training and induction software that allows Swick to offer in-house training.
The software developed by Indepth Creative provides a system which is easy to update and add new content to, allowing the courses to be customised to suit the client’s specific training needs. An interactive exam component allows trainers to easily monitor progress, resulting in a simplified and streamlined training process which has created a higher retention rate for Swick.
Indepth Creative congratulates Guildford-based Swick Mining Services on winning the Leading Training Processes and Practices of the Year Award for a Small-Medium Company.
Mining Industry Skills Centre’s Project Officer - Skills Strategy, Kellie Lister, praised the system which was implemented by Indepth, saying “Swick Mining Services has a unique approach to learning and development in the drilling industry. They have a program that involves re-aligning recruitment through personal profiling, a multimedia induction system, a purpose built training room, effective simulation and career progression opportunities.”
“Swick Mining has implemented training and professional development processes across the organization in a range of roles which has enabled them to achieve consistent and efficient results which deserve recognition,” Ms Lister added.
The awards are designed to recognise outstanding commitment and leadership in workforce planning and development in the Australian resources industry. The Skills Centre’s Training Awards are the resources industry’s most prestigious training and skilling awards and showcase the leading work being undertaken by companies, trainers, individuals and trainees.
